🧭 A Walk Around the Workshops

Here’s what you need to know as you navigate the space:
- ✅ Always scan in when you enter. This helps us track usage and improve access.
- 🚪 Keep doors closed behind you. Especially fire doors!
- ⚡ Electrical Room: Restricted access. Please do not enter or use for storage.
- 🚷 Entrance Area: Keep clear. It's a designated emergency exit route.
- 🔥 Fire safety: Fire call points and extinguishers are located at every exit. Report any damage to [email protected]
Fire Safety Notes:
- Use the red extinguisher only for electrical fires.
- Emergency exits are clearly marked—main one is through the double doors you entered.
- If you let someone in, you’re responsible for showing them around and ensuring they follow the same rules.
🔁 These safety principles are shared across makerspaces, fab labs, and workshops worldwide.
Key Reminders:
- 🧹 Always clean up after yourself
- 👥 If you’re giving someone a tour, stay with them
- 🔥 Don’t be on fire (Rule Zero 😅)
- 🧠 Use common sense—we prefer not to make unnecessary rules

💻 Digital & Electronics Area

Rules at a glance:
- 🧴 Water bottles are okay. Food or drinks are not!
- 🧼 Tidy up your workspace before you leave

Using Computers:
- 💾 Save your work to personal USB drives or cloud storage
- 🧹 Computers are wiped monthly without notice
- 🔐 Some software requires your own login credentials
Respect the Digital Culture:
- ✅ Log out, clear history, and power down if you're last to leave
- 🧑🤝🧑 Help each other out—we're all learning
- 🔒 Don’t change security settings or install unauthorized software
- 💸 Use premium software only on designated machines
Special Equipment Notes:
- 🥽 VR headsets may record screens/voices—be mindful
- 🖨️ Printer/copier: Use responsibly to reduce costs and waste

🛠️ Dirty Workspaces & Workshops

This area is equipped for heavy-duty making — including woodworking, metalworking, welding, and use of a wide range of hand and power tools. ⚒️
Please treat this room with care and follow all safety protocols:
- ⚠️ Hazardous tools and equipment in use
- Includes saws, grinders, welders, sanders, drills, and more
- Only trained members may use specific machines
- Always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—such as safety goggles, gloves, and hearing protection
- 🔐 Access is restricted
- Use of this room requires prior training or supervision
- The room is locked and not available for general use unless scheduled
- 🔥 Emergency use only door
- Use the side exit only in the event of a fire or emergency
- Fire extinguishers and first aid kits are located at key points—know where they are
- 🧹 Clean up thoroughly before leaving
- Return all tools to their proper storage
- Sweep or vacuum dust, metal shavings, or debris
- Wipe down benches and shared surfaces
- 🚫 No food or drink allowed in this space
- ❓ If you're unsure how to use a tool—ask for guidance before using it
